  • Where to find blank fober board

    Can anyone advise where I can buy fiber board blacks for building a hand wired circuit, tweed style but not pre cut?

    Try AES;

    Fiberboard - Vulcanized, 3" x 15", .062" Thick | Antique Electronic Supply

    Mojotone sometimes has packs of offcuts.

    FWIW I'd go for FR4 or GR10 (epoxy-glass) and have the certainty it won't leak DC.

    Edit; You may want to use something thicker than the AES board, though.

      PTFE is a joy to work with if you can get a good price on it.

        Delrin is another material that machines nicely, and can take the heat of soldering, and doesn't make toxic dust when you cut it:

          FWIW, I got burned on black fibre board from Mojotone. They were kind enough to refund my money. I was able to prove the boards were absorbing moisture and conducting, causing me all kinds of trouble on an AB763 DR. I had to rip it all out and re-wire on G-10 turret board. I even used the same components to prove my point. The amp is now running very well and is quiet as a mouse. Never again.
          It's weird, because it WAS working fine.....
