Question on pot selection

I'm building a watkins 20/t clone from junk box parts. My question when looking at schematics how can i reasonable be sure of when to choose an Audio pot versus a log pot?

Then I probably meant Linear There are two different kinds you can buy i believe and was just wondering based on a schematic how to tell which.
Would you use audio for volumes and Linears for tone and tremelo?
