  • Scratch temp build

This is going into a 1955 Premier cabinet until i can get the schematic drawn and some parts sourced. I don't want to butcher the original so i told the customer i have a aluminum chassis i can build something on and mothball the original chassis.

Cabinet has a original jensen p12p in very nice shape, but i don't plan on many watts, maybe 20. Faceplate has vol, tone, vol, tone, speed and intensity, don't want to drill any holes but yet want to use all 6 spaces.

    Parts i have on hand.

HP power tranny, no 5v, no center taps, so i am thinking diode bridge for power. 2 secondaries, 278 at 77ma and 174 at 620ma.
278v tap in duncap psu shows me ~ 375-385v, but i only have 77 ma to play with. Will 6v6's work? 6l6? If it has major sag so be it.

I do have another trans, that one puts out 360 loaded at a good 200ma and has 5v, 6v, 12v filaments.

Output trans from a Lowrey organ that had 6l6's, i measure 12.9k into 8 ohms. High but..............i may have others for PP(el84 OT pull).

Preamp most likely pentode, or triode with grid leak bias, trying to stay old tone period correct maybe. Just tired of 12ax7's and trying to stay away but if i have to i will use them, or 6av6's.

    Ideas?

Silvertone 1482 has a simple tremolo and would like something like that.
