      Beau-tee-fulll! Sounds awesome.
The only good solid state amp is a dead solid state amp. Unless it sounds really good, then its OK.

        Thanks!

Here's one last clip. I think I've finalized the various tone stack values and dropping resistor.

New clips. Made a few more changes and now just playing with the slope resistor value. Then it's done! Any preferences here?

The overdrive sounds are awesome. Lots of great harmonics, and sustain. Awesome! Thanks for posting these clips.

                      Thanks for listening

Do you have a favorite as far as the slope resistor clips go?

They both sound awesome. I can't tell a huge difference. I will listen again a couple of times...

The second clip maybe sounds a *little* better to my old broken down ears, but it may be a difference in recording volume or where the mic was placed.

There should be more than two clips. This forum only lets you post 1 video per post, so here's links:

what do you mean snipped cap, which one?
I thought the 33k sounded best but 35k after the dial changes sounded like better highs.
                              I have done the same thing with a 5f6a but I went back to 56k / 250p
the 39k I used also for a while and ended up going to a 330p for the cap.

The snipped cap bit in the title is a note for my benefit. Nothing to do with the tone stack. The treble cap in all these clips is 560pF.

I have a pot hooked up now so I can just dial in to what sounds good and then measure the pot to see what value resistor to use. And I'm liking somewhere around 38K or so. 38K resistor doesn't exist in the type I'm using. But 36K does. So I'm thinking I'll do 510pF cap + 36K resistor, which will get me close to 560pF/38K.
