I've done a few things since my last post. I added an extra gain stage to
the tremolo circuit to boost its output to where I think it should be. Luckily
my little output board was right next to the spare triode of the tremolo
circuit so it was an easy matter to make a new longer board to hold the
gain stage components :
I then worked on an issue described in this thread :The end result was to add an additional 20uf decoupling cap. Instead of adding
it to the already long row of coupling caps and its resulting long wires I decided
to stack two levels of coupling caps. This enabled me to get the preamp
decoupling caps right next to the preamps :
I also moved the reverb circuit from the vibrato channel to the normal channel
which I think makes more sense. Now I can have clean/crunch + reverb or a
nice clean tremolo. It was also easier to interface the normal channel preamp
to the reverb circuit.
I'm now going to stop working on the amp and start on it's box and the cabinet
for my speaker. Here is the final version until I've had some time to play
through it :
