  • Now I need help with the resistors for a fender 5c1 amp :/

There is no information on the schematics that I've seen to tell me what wattage resistors I need to use for this amp. Any help?

    My guesses

B+ Supply resistors should be at least 1 watt, (2W or 5W is more insurance - I used 2 x 22k 1W in parallel for the first supply resistor in my recent champ build)

The power tube cathode resistor should probably be 5W. (I used a chunky wire-wound 470 Ohmer in here)

If you are putting a screen grid resistor in, better make that 5W.

The other resistors can be 1/2 watt.

0.6W metal films are quieter for the plate resistors. I put 2 x 200k in parallel for each pre-amp plate resistor to give over 1W here.
Building a better world (one tube amp at a time)

All of Tubeswell's comments are OK.
1 watt power supply node resistors are probably OK but I would use a 2 watt for the first and 1 watt for the second and make them both flameproof Metal Oxide.

A single 6V6 with a 100ma cathode draw (not going to happen in a class A SE 6V6 amp, unless the tube is bad) with the 470 ohm resistor would need a 5 watter. Amazingly, one watt 470 ohm resistors here is what I mostly see so I'd use at least a 2 watt Metal Oxide... or 5 watts if you just want to.

I don't think a 6V6 will draw enough screen current to warrant a 5 watt screen resistor... a 470 to 1K at 1 watt is probably all you'll ever need.

Yes, 1/2 watt carbon film is OK.

1/2 watters are OK but 1 watt 5%, carbon film resistors are way more then good enough with this amp design.
