  • DIY rack mountable tube power amp

    anyone kno if this is cost effective or ne available schematics for one? would i be better off just buying one 2nd hand n if so any kno of ne cheap ones to look for on ebay etc? cheerz

    Look for Starfield, Peavey, and Marshall 9000 series. You should be able to get one of these cheaper than you could buy the parts to make it.

      I would have to agree that buying one would be a better deal for you. You have to remember that the traditional heads and combos offer good air flow for cooling.

      A rack mount unit needs fans to cool it, and for the kit builder a fan could mean big problems with noise.

      Just an opinion...
