Corners and feet

I'm about to finish up a DIY Bassman, but I don't know if folks put metal or rubber corners on their Fender replicas. Most pictures of Bassman and Champ clones don't show corners, so I'm torn between wanting protection and wanting a good replica (even though I chose a cream Tolex with salt-and-pepper grill instead of the standard Tweed/Oxblood combination).

And speaking of protection, what kind of feet go on the bottom? Will plain old black rubber ones do the trick? I guess the question would be: If you were making an amp for sale, how would you adorn the corners and what would you put on the bottom.

i would use metal corner because i would think that they would blend in more than black corners.

Larry, I struggle with the same question, knowing that my boss would have a fit if I put corners on a tweed amp. However, you already went with a different aesthetic with the covering. Black corners (though you didn't mention black corners) might look good on cream Tolex. Go with metal.

As far as the feet go, you aren't going to see them much. I dunno if they will affect the tone, but I have amps with both rubber and metal and they sound good.

I got some metal corners once (marketed by Ernie Ball), but I've never used them on my tweed clones to-date (and they're still sitting in the cupboard waiting for their opportunity). I've also never used any feet and the bass response is better when they are right on the floor. However I have got some (little white) rubber feet for my 6G15 clone, because that has to stand on top of other amps (where a gap is required because of the carry handle and to dampen vibrations getting into the reverb unit.)
