I've been watching the posts around here for several weeks while I planned and worked on my practice amp. I just finished building my 1x10 speaker cabinet that I'll keep out in my shop. I decided at the last minute that I wanted a grille cloth across the speaker so that my dog wouldn't put his nose thru it.
When I went Ace Hardware to get some "stuff", I noticed a rack of Solar Screen Material and bought some. I don't know if anyone else here has ever tried using that for speaker grille cloth but it's perfect. Not so good if you're rebuilding a vintage amp but looks nice on my homebrew.
$4.00 bought enough material to cover 4 or 5 speakers. It comes in black, green, and tan and was very easy to apply. Might be good for covering practice also.
