  • run in grill cloth

I'm getting close to done with my latest cab and the cloth is a bit too loose for me and there's a slight run in the cloth. It's a black & tan weave and the cloth is not heat shrinkable,(I know because I tried and it just gets black and smokes). Does anyone know if this stuff shrinks if you wet it down? Also is there a better way to fix runs than moving 1 stitch at a time
The run is horizontal about in the middle of the cab. It's a little more noticable in person.

Never tried the water thing. Your probably better off getting some more grill cloth to replace the run. You got to really stretch that grill cloth tight when you staple it down. I've notice it will actually get a little less taunt in warmer temperatures. It kind of reacts to temperature a bit. The grill cloth Fender used is real springy and stretchy. Real easy to work with.

I like the back and tan cloth also. Has a nice vintage appeal to it.

Hey Thanks SysCrusher.. Yeah your probably right, it was cold when I put it on and it seems to have loosen up a bit since, and it has been warming up around here. Maybe I'll just live with the run and re-work it a bit at a time, the stuff's a little expensive.
