Point taken. I'm a bit of twit when I'm doing work like that, and I keep the hair dryer constantly moving. But the space heater is an even better approach.

And I don't mean to cook the grille cloth either. Maybe 2-3 mins is a little long if too close to the quartz heater. Be careful with what ever method you use as the cloth can shrink up unevenly with unevenly applied heat... the quartz heater is quite a bit more broad in surface area.
And there is no fan to direct the heat to only one spot... I guess that is the main thing.

Flapping grill cloth. All manufacturers use a strip around the baffle board perimeter. 1/8 x 1" strips. If you like to project enough, then you may want to redo.
