  • First Posting-My Princeton Cab Build

    Here's a cab I built for a narrow panel Princeton-fun build!
A local guitar shop allowed me to take detailed measurements.
Tweed is from Tubesandmore.com, 1/4" finger joints-#2 pine
This is my third cab, my first was a Champ measured from my original,
my second was a late 50's narrow panel Deluxe which I measured from an original @ Guitar Center in Hollywood.
I may post pics of those soon.

    nice done...

    hello.
    looks like an original. finger-jointed?

what kind of wood did you use? 50's originals were pine, i guess? i'm living in europe, where it is pretty hard to get pine-wood in propper quality & it's not cheap (i know that, because my brother is a carpenter)

so i use the cabinet, which was sold with my TAD-kit, but i'll have to wait 2 months for it...

anyway i have time, this is my first amp...

did you ever build your own amps too? would be nice to know...

    greetings from vienna, austria...

      WT,
      Very nice work.
I noticed that you do very good tweed corner work.
      Regards,
      Tom

I'll second that, the lines in the Tolex line up everywhere.

Is there a website that gives a detailed description on how
to cover a cabinet ? My search just turns up Tolex vendors.

Never mind, I just found Satamax's post that points to a nice
          description by Southbay Ampworks :

Nice work! The corners look great! I just did a custom 5f2a for someone. It was a tight squeeze in the cab i made him. I put an extra octal socket in to allow parallel 6v6 outputs, or an EL34, or a 6l6. Made a couple extra eyelet holes in the board for the second cathode res. and used the fuse hole for a standby sw. and the #2 input hole for a bright/deep sw. I like it the best with the EL34. Nine watts of raging single ended beauty. Something to think about if you haven't already put it together.., I used a Hammond 125ese for the opt, but you could get away with a cse or a dse.
Great Job WT!! Post pics of your other babies!
