wassup guy's.. completely new to amp's so please bare with me. so i hope i've found an amp worthy of'a little conversion.. but.. i understand some types of amps are "really" dangerous and i dont even wanna try'n add an instument jack if this is one of them..

it's'a sears, sold to me as'a silvertone, console stereo amp, working.. the chassis #528 59700
    (3)transformers c80-33-0b 549951, c80--106-1b 606946, b80-98-1d 606944 (7)tubes... 1)x12AX7, 1)x5y3, 3)x6bq5, 2)x6au6

the reason i thought it'd be an easy fix is it has a (phono/tape in) and speaker outs already.. the controls are, stereo ballance/loudness, compensator for RAII 78, bass, treble..

any direction on where to proceed here would be greatly appreciated.. i have a usa65silvertoneJagSilouette and'a 60sSilvertoneMIJ 319hb so the lil silvertone tone monsters sorely needed.. i hope, i hope, i hope, i hope, hehe!!

    many thanks guys.................laters,chuck

wassup guy's.. just a coupla little things i think i've figured out about this lil amp.. the phono/78 side is gonna need some work to clean up the RIAA
circut before it will behave anything like an amp.. meanwhile.. the tape side should be relatively ready to go just in need of some jacks.. has a remote control jack of sorts.. posssible footswitch/FX loop?? the ext speaker out is 8ohm.. its gotta little three pin? outlet on the back where i think the radio would plug in.. ooh ohh!! and it's gotta really really cool little amber light that comes on when you plug it in.. dont know why this made me so happy..

should have some sorta sound within a day or two.. any suggestions about any part of the amp would be appreciated.. stereo?, channels?, sorry if these are lame questions or conjectures< sp..laters,chuck

OK...I'll bite. First....Be WELL aware that ALL tube amps have lethal voltages and do not attempt to build, modify or service one without knowing basic safety and troubleshooting proceedures. However, this is not a series filament hot chassis amp to which you may be alluding. It's a doner amp. You may be in over your head.

It's a stereo amp. You probably have some decent 6BQ5 (EL84) output tubes. Here is what I would do. Gut it. Buy or make a new chassis. Use the power transformer, the 5Y3 rectifier, two 6BQ5s, and a couple of 12AX7s to make an 18 watt Marshall clone. You will have probably have to buy or find a different output transformer since the new build will be a PP mono amp unless it is a stereo PP amp. If it is stero PP then you can use one of the OTs or buy another OT and use four 6BQ5s to make a 30 watt Voxish amp. Save yourself a headache and build a new turret board with new, fresh components. I also recommend using new ceramic tube sockets, new switches, and new pots and jacks. Use a known good design like a Ceritone or something with a known good schematic and layout diagram. All in all it would not be a lot of cash and you would have a decent, reliable, and presentable amp rather than trying to make it something that it isn't and will never be as it sits.

Gotta agree with old dawg, it looks like you might have enough juice to build a little 18 watter. but gut the whole thing and start from scratch. The PT you can map out before you take it apart. but you may indeed need a new output transformer. I might even reccomend an 18 watt "lite" build. you can read up on it at 18watt.com. you'll need to join their forum, but they have schematics and layout and all sorts of fun stuff.
