I was wondering if there's a particularly good source for power cords and mounting hardware.
The reason I ask is that when I removed the old two-wire power cord from the Thordarson PA amp I'm working on, I found that it had a cord input hole with a curved-in edges like a trumpet bell, 1/2" diameter. (No sharp edges) A regular Heyco strain relief won't fit it because the in-curved hole is too deep. The original cord had a molded rubber strain-relief that fit the hole. Of course, this was made in 1948...
I could drill it out to the next largest standard cord size (0.625 I think?), but I try to avoid drilling new holes when I can.
What do most people use when mounting a new power cord? I often find that things like this take me longer to figure out than the electronics, especially if I want to avoid having it look too "homemade."
Are SJO or SVT cords preferred?
Thanks!
