  • Starting with a Vjr and Univalve

Been working on these on/off for a while... When do modifications becomes a conversion? It's a slippery slope, but a good ride.

Lots of details, audio clips, and scope waveforms of key amp sections at this site...

Thanks... Never played a flexi - looks like it could be very different from the Uni/bivalve. They are really expensive now (2k?). Would you recommend buying one at current prices?

i love mine but it's a very different sound then the class A univalve.

It's got the same type of functionality though, switchable boost, master volume, bright boost etc.

a while ago used ones for were going for like 900-1200.

Prices seem to have gone up since then.

I think at used prices they are a steal...the ultimate tweakers plexi/jcm800 marshall-esque amp.

For 2k..I dunno. There's just so way too much stuff out now at that price point...

none of them really offer THD's approach to tweaking your amp though.

yeah... 2K seems a stretch. I've never seen the insides of a flexi - when you pop it open, pls post a few pics. I'm sure I'm not the only one curious how much room is in there and what the construction looks like.
