Phono conversion...

I have an old phono amp that I had sent to Kendrick "back in the day" to have modified to a guitar amp. I used it powering a marshall 4/12 cab for a while then it started losing power and I mothballed it.I dug it out of the garage the other day and fired it up powering a 1/12 cab. It sounded weak and even worse when I ran a preamp box in it.I was looking for a good layout(schematic) to build a new amp from scratch using some of the parts.It has a 5Y3 Rect/2-6v6/2-12ax7 Volume/Bass/Treble controls I looked at the 5e3 though the controls are different. Any Ideas?

Just out of curiosity, what was the original phono amp in? Think I've seen a couple in magnavox consoles with that tube complement.
