well, i removed the 56k feedback resistor and the squeak went away!! do you know why the feedback would have done that? now, i guess just finish up the little troubleshooting. Thanks a ton! i have noticed that the bass channel has less volume. I guess i can try swapping in another tube and seeing if that fixes it.

With nothing else to go on, you have a 50/50 chance of getting the negative feedback hooked up in the correct phase. If it's positive feedback instead, there is a chance that the amp will be unstable. (I bet your presence control didn't do much, either.) Try switching the OT primary leads, hook up the feedback resistor, and see if it still squeaks when you flip the standby.
Not sure why the Bass channel would have less volume, though. It has an extra gain stage *and* a cathode follower in front of the tone stack, so I'd expect it to be a lot gainier!

so, I had a chance to crank the amp and it sounds awesome!!! the bass channel is suffering so im gonna open that back up and see whats going on. and I did look at the schematic between the two circuits AB165(old) and 6G6-B(new) and it looks like the OT leads are swapped. So, it looks like your right on that small little overlook on my part. So ill swap that, hook up the feedback and see how she works! Thanks
