  • Deluxe Reverb clone - ugly distortion when v3 is connected - help!

I built this amp according to Weber schematic and layout.
The amp sounds great, but when the volume is turned past 3 on the vibrato channel there is this horrible and VERY LOUD distortion, the ugly blocking distortion type.

    - Disconnecting the tank helps a bit.
    - With V3 out of the circuit, the noise goes away.
    - its not the tube, i swapped it

Voltages on all the circuit seem to be fine.
I have no clue about where is the problem.
I have some experience dealing with blocking distortion, but i need to better isolate the problem .
    Would you help me, please?

    Felipe.

I've seen this before on a silverface Vibrolux Reverb clone. The reverb drive (presumably V3 on your build) was being overdriven, and the distortion was being "splashed back" to the signal chain. I had to reduce the signal level into the reverb driver by adding a voltage divider in front of V3. Hope this helps.
