  • Update on my 'New Champ Build Problems'...

Well, the first week of January, I decided to add a Filter Cap to this thing... Goes kinda like this using what I had...

    B+OT-20uf-Choke/10uf-10K/8uf-220K/8uf... What a squeeze...

I grounded the last 8uf to a ground on the other side of the chassis to a Solid Copper Wire bolted to the chassis with the other signal grounds... Volume is grounded to it's case... Sheilded Cable on Volume and Inputs...

    I went with a New JJ 6V6, 5Y3 and ECC83...

The thing is dead quiet, with only a bit of humm and tube rattle at 12... ... For my purposes, Vol @ 3 or 4 (practice amp replacing the old PigNose) serves it's purpose... Runs alot cooler too... Louder than I thought it'd be...

Sometimes I wanna try the 6L6/GZ34, but I don't think there will be much an improvement and I'm still gettin used to it... It's been allmost 3 months and I haven't had to open it up to fix anything...

Wanna really do a BlackFace Princeton Reverb next... or a 5E3... or a...

    Thanks to all that helped...

I didn't see that you asked any questions. Rather, you were just talking out loud.

I reckon I was... I was thinking someone would probably say, 'You should have used this resistor instead of that resistor, or this Cap instead of that Cap'... or 'Oh No, you shouldn't have done that'!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining... I'm happy as I can be... Your 'Brute Force' diagram lead me to experiment with the extra Cap and use the same resistors...

          Thanks again everybody...
