    Well, now it works. That was dumb. The only thing is that the tubes started to redplate.

      So it was the bias?
      Just too little? The output tubes were overheating...

      So now increase the bias...till the red goes away...

        The bias was too little and I had forgotten a simple connection from the grid stoppers, connection "B" on the above layout. It sounds good now. I just need to get it to our rehearsal space to put it through some higher volume applications.

            I hope you got the bias set much closer to the -37V than the -25V that you had. Biased that hot (-25V at pin5) will eat your output tubes pretty quick.
