  • Lazy mans power tranny

    Hi
I'm using an old Gibson chassis to host a Hoffman board. The original PT stood straight vertically up rather then horizontially and in a cutout like a 'real' Fender PT.
Anybody sell a 5E3 friendly "tower"* transformer.
(* and please tell me the correct terms for PT orientation).
    Tanks.
Next question would be; anybody want to buy this PT I bought for my amp that won't fit my chassis?
    Bob

I have seen the manufacturer’s catalogs refer to the Fender style PT as a “Z” mount and the Marshall style as an “X” mount. Most people on the discussion boards seem to just callthem “laydown” and “standup” styles respectively.

I'm a Mercury Magnetics dealer and although they are probably not the only ones, they are the only ones I know of that will make a specific transformer in a standup or laydown version.

        Much obliged

I'm off to a good start here.
TZonline, I guess it's more proper if I approach you off line about the tranny.
