  • Triode Electronics output transformer?

Still thinking about output transformers. Has anyone tried one of these TF-110-4816 output transformers in a 5E3? Seems like it offers a lot of possibilities for experimenting at a pretty reasonable price.

I ordered a 5e3 kit from them. I think that's the OT I have. Made in USA, UL taps (which I don't use) and multiple impedances.

I think it sounds great. Have had mine for about a year now and it's still kicking. I had never played a 5e3 until I built mine, so I don't have much to compare it to, but my band members *still* complement me on my tone.

In fact...That's cheaper than the hammond I was looking at. I think I am gonna order that again for my 6g3 build I can never seem to get the money together for...well, I will once I get the money together

Triode used to be a good place to buy from when Ned still ran the place. But, I bought several OT trannys from them and they were bad. Well, it happens to the best of them but. They would not take them back and gave me mucho grief until I got tired of the hassle. I also did not like that the trannys had UL Taps that I would never use.

That's a shame that things have gone down hill at Triode. Was Ned the owner or just the boss?
