  • Bruce... can you help ?

I need to know if this schem is correct to add a passive effects loop to my 5E3 clone, ( my Verbzilla doubles the hiss when plugged in the front-end ). The loop didn't work as shown in the schem when I installed it ...it oscillated when the mix control was barely turned up.

Nevermind.. I realize it's a crime to want an effects loop in the sacred 5E3.. although several mod kits are sold by Mission to change the amp into something else ... I just wanted less noisey effects.

The problem with your suggestion for an effects loop is that the signal level is very high at the point you have chosen. Most effects will not be able to drive the output fully. If you move it one stage prior where the signal level is not so high, you would need an effect with a very high input impedance connected with a short low capacitance cable. It could be done and it would kinda work. I think it would suck the magic out of the 5E3 but, it won't hurt to try.
WARNING! Musical Instrument amplifiers contain lethal voltages and can retain them even when unplugged. Refer service to qualified personnel.
