  • layout differences re 500pf 'bright' cap

The weber layout has the 500pf cap running from tone to 2nd volume whereas every other layout I've seen, including original fender, has it running to 1st volume pot. Why? Is it a mistake? What difference does it make?

    Thanks,
I'm just about to wire in solder in this cap and would rather avoid doing it twice. I feel I should stick with Fender layout on this but wondered if there was some reason, unseen by me, why the Weber layout had it that way.

Probably has more to do with how the inputs are labeled. My original has so much rust I can't tell which inputs are 'Normal' and which are 'Bright'. The change affects which volume control has the tone control active. No big deal really.
WARNING! Musical Instrument amplifiers contain lethal voltages and can retain them even when unplugged. Refer service to qualified personnel.

What loudthud said - you want the tone control pot associated with whichever pot is the 'instr' channel vol pot.
