  • Channel Bleed on 5E3

Hi All, Sorry if I'm posting something that might be already covered.

I lent my Mission 5E3 to a friend who's amp was in the shop and when I got to his gig he had his multi-effects unit set so high that there was feedback coming through the amp before he even played a note!

After he returned the amp I've noticed that I'm getting a lot more channel bleed-through than normal. I mean, when I plug into the bright channel with the volume turned down and I turn up the normal channel I get a pretty substantial signal. Could my friend have fried a resistor or something in the am that I need to replace?

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Aside from that I LOVE this amp. It's fantastic with my strat, tele and the PRS SE Custom.

Unless your friends multi-effects unit was defective and applied an inappropriate voltage level to the input, it's unlikely it did anything wrong. If you really are hearing a significant difference from before, then perhaps something else happened cooincidentally. It does seem that it needs a checkup if it is indeed different.

Outside of the bleed-through does it seem otherwise normal sounding?
