PT nuts

On the Mission kit ( 5E3 ) the PT has nuts that holed the PT together, I see that they also can serve to mount the PT. Bruce has extra lock nuts for this. Question is - should those nuts be removed and re-mounted inside the chassis so that the PT sits closer to the chassis, and then put the lock nuts on top for the standard nuts for good measure. The issue is whether the PT should sit closer to the chassis.

Don't use the nuts that hold the PT together... use the extras that Bruce included.

I take it you built one of these ?? is it necessary to tie the speaker jacks together at ground?? os is the 8 ohm jack grounded to the chassis via contact.

Good practice is to provide a solid ground from the speaker jacks to the chassis. If the speaker jack nut were to loosen, you'd loose ground, and basically be running your secondary without a load which will fry your OT.
