  • 5E3 to Proluxe conversion

I've been looking at the Weber 5E3P layout and have some questions:

What OT do you need to do the Proluxe conversion?
Who sells that 50k-L bias pot?
What's the voltage rating for the 50uf cap?

    Thanks.

I've got one on the bench here right now that's misbehaving. The bias pot can be had at Rat Shack if you install a regular size one in the aux speaker jack outlet as I did, and you might find that 1k resistor in the bias string has to be increased to 4.7 k. The output transformer is the W404248 I think. Any 30w output would work pretty well.

If you search the threads here at Ampage, you'll discover that there are problems with hum that causes many builders to convert the Proluxe to cathode bias. There is a defect in the published circuit. Go register for the forums at Weber, search there and you'll find a solution.
WARNING! Musical Instrument amplifiers contain lethal voltages and can retain them even when unplugged. Refer service to qualified personnel.
