Finished job- many thanks to those who helped me: Mr. Stokes, MJWB, Bruce and others. So here's my effort- I hope as time goes on to upgrade the filter caps, valves & OT. The only query I have is my top (in pic) input jack wiring: the 'switch' lug config puzzled me applied to these placcy ones with 4 lugs: (the rhs lugs in pic both break contact when jack inserted). I think its right, but if anyone can see its not pls shout! Cheers Captain.

Hi Captain, I notice you're in England so if you want new valves then you really should try Derek at Watford Valves - they also do resistors/capacitors/speakers etc

          http://www.watfordvalves.com/

There are detailed valve and speaker reviews on the web-site, but unless you're absolutely sure what you want, then it's best to speak to the man himself (01923 893270) as he's a mine of information on all things 'valvey' and 'speakery' and my 5E3 sound fantastic with his recomendations.

          p.s. I don't work for him, honest!
