    new 5E3 was working then went silent....... no voltage's on tubes

    other 6v6 looks same
    The pre amp tubes have about the same kind of readings as 6v6

    What is the voltage (DC) at the first filter cap?

            Must be a bad Standby switch. With power off and caps discharged connect ohm-meter across switch terminals and expect short or open indication depending on switch position.
            WARNING! Musical Instrument amplifiers contain lethal voltages and can retain them even when unplugged. Refer service to qualified personnel.
            REMEMBER: Everybody knows that smokin' ain't allowed in school !

              It has to be either a bad stand by switch (connection) or a bad connection at the rectifier tube. Not sure how it is built. The original 5E3 did not have a stand by switch..

                so I was checking this thing out then I moved the 5y3 a little then the tube lit up and it started working......... I will see if it does this agian.........
