If you are finding the lug holes too small for wires, resistors, and all; you can run extension wires to a small 3-terminal tag strip and run your lamp connections and 100R resistor connections from that.

I think I'm o.k. for now. I have read about using a tag strip to facilitate multiple connections. Do you need to bolt the tag strip to the chassis or is it free-floating (or should I just stop asking questions now and not clutter the board with utter "newbie-ness")?

Tag strips are usually attached to something solid like the chassis.

Never stop asking questions, that's why this forum is here so people like Bruce and others can help out.

Success - and dim-bulb limiter question

So, tonight I went through the power-up procedure on my Mission kit, and to my utter and complete surprise, the thing works!!!

I do have a bit of a question, though. I used a dim-bulb limiter when I first fired her up. I started with a 100-watt bulb, but I got absolutely no glow at all. I switched to a 60-watt bulb, and that appeared to work perfectly - bright glow for a second, then dim. Should I be concerned that the 100-watt bulb didn't work?

Also, the amp has a bit of a dyna-moe hum issue when turned up. I'll try another guitar to see if that's the problem, but I'd like to know if anybody has a good checklist to deal with hum.

          Thanks.
