  • Tolexing- last tricky bit Q.

Hi all. I've redone a 5e3 style cab in fender tolex. Ive tolexed a few cabs now so my corners & inside panel cutout all getting twds perfect (with the pinch method), but for two corners which I can't get right/ look sloppy..

Its the two 90 degree corners where the amp cutout dips in from the back.. ie next to chassis mounting screws, twds bttm lhs & rhs when viewed from rear.

Anyone know the correct method for these? or can see how an original tweed cab is done? thanks Capt

Are you talking about the little inside corner of the chassis cutout?
If so it is a separate triangular piece that is cut and glued in before you put the top piece on the lid.

Hi Bruce, No that bit I can do ok..

the 2 corners I mean are on the top where the rear panel meets the top panel, or where the chassis cutout area immediately 'dips in'. So, if looking at the chassis/ top of cab from the rear, its the bttm lhs and bttm rhs 90* corners. Not the extremity corners of the cab.

      thanks, Capt.
