Hammond 1750E in a 5F2A?

I have a spare 1750E transformer which is close to the primary I used for a previous 5F2A build but I am wondering what kind of difference this transformer will have since its designed for push pull and the 5F2A is a single ended amp. I originally used a 125ese using a 10K primary for 8 ohm secondary and that worked pretty well. the 1750E is just a 8k primary for 8 ohm. both transformers are rated at 15 watts.

This may be a stupid question but any guidence would be helpful

Either will work fine, 10K is a little higher than the norm for a 6V6, you could also try the 5K tap (this would give a nice compromise between 6V6 & 6l6/5881, use a 10W cathode resistor and a 50v or better bypass cap at power tube pin 8).

Ultimately, go with the one you like the sound of best...ideally the SE OT should have an air gap to prevent dc core saturation (like the 125ESE) but the Fender style push-pull Princeton OT has been used as a factory upgrade for decades, they sound fine.

If you have it, use it. Use the 2 'end' primaries & cap off the centre tap.
