5C1 OT

Yet another 5C1 question.........I have located a USA-made OT with 5K & 8K input taps which the seller says is for a Champ. I believe the original OT had a 7K input. Will this transformer work & which input should I use???

5k will sound a bit cleaner and more compressed at the expense of a wee bit of power
8k will sound pretty much the same as what the 7k would

What's wrong with a
Hammond 1760C
?
7K with multi output taps.
