  • the beginnings of a 5c3?

had to post this. (hope it's in the right forum as i don't know a whole lot about fender amps)

based on the 5c3 circuit out of spare parts. i had to series add and parallel some resistors to get the values i needed.

will also be using 6sl7's instead of 6sc7's.

will be making the tube chassis next and wiring that up.

I've actually built a few 5E3 amps (and other tweed Fendery amps) using 6SL7s and 6SC7s in the preamp by enlarging the 9 pin socket holes and they truly sound wonderful with NOS tubes.
The last amp I built was a 5C5 (using a Weber chassis that already had octal socket holes) with two JJ6V6s a 5V4GA and two 6SL7s, that bugger was stellar!

got it done. the test bed that is. need to rewire with shielded and add another jack.....maybe....

did have a slight hum to it, but i'm sure that will be taken care of after i use the shielded wire where it needs to be.

        sounded pretty good considering.

          That was quick!

I have an old Muzak PA (2x6V6, labelled as 8 watts) that is destined to become a 5B3 Deluxe once I've finished a couple other projects.
