  • 5F6A cabinet

    Hi.
Is there anybody who have done experiments of cabinets?

I have 5F6A clone with the Mojo cabinet.

I'm wondering that there is any tonal differences between Mojo and Weber.

How about other cabinets like Mission and Rodgers?

If you have a strong recommendation of the cabinet distributers,
    Please let me know.

    Thanks.

Just my opinion without any hard data. The last thing I would worry about is the cabinet changing the sound of the amp. The combo amps like the 5F6A are open backed cabinets, and I don't think there will be much difference from one cabinet to the next. The speaker selection, however, has a very strong effect on the tone and characteristics. Here's a link to Weber's speaker FAQs, where there is quite a bit of information on how the type of cabinet can influence the sound.

I think the baffle board stiffness, and how it kind of 'floats' makes a difference in these amps. (and speaker selection too, as Diablo states). I can plug my 5F6A clone into my SFSR speakers and it really changes the tone.

        Thanks for a reply!!!
        Well, I read a Q&A about a buffle board
and I found out that the thickness of my buffle is 3/8''.

Well, I will think about speakers too!!
