  • Fender Tremolux Tweed

    Hello!

    My tremolux is already built!
itīs base is 5E9 - A schematics (schematics heaven)
but OT is mercury magnetics 5G9 model
it is cathode biased, 2x 6V6JJ tubes
and the rectifier is 5U4GB (also used in 5G9 model)
    speaker is Jensen Alnico P12R

    There are few problems:
    the sound is muffled
    there is not much headroom
and it breaks up too early (yet the drive is nice fuzzy)
it means that there is almost no clean sound
(the guitar volume knob doesnīt work well)

So, I thing that the main problem is in the values of the voltages in
the amp because there are any in the schematics
and I have not an opportunity to calibrate the original

maybe the problem is somewhere elsewhere
    I donīt know exactly

every reasonable information can help me!!!
    many thanks

    Martin

You got some detailed pics? They could help finding the culprit.

Sorry about the missed PM, my inbox was full.

I see that you have several threads open about the same problem. It would be a lot easier to follow if you would choose one thread and keep all of the discussions in one place. Maybe if you could choose one thread, and put links to it in the others. That way people who'd like to help would know where to go, and they'd find all of the pertinent information in one place.

        Just an idea.
