  • Tweed Princeton Flubbing Out On Last 15% of the Volume Control ?

So I built a tweed princeton based on Steve Milberger's design which uses solid state rectification instead of the normal 5y3. The amp sounds great but for the last 15% of the volume control things get really flubby in the bass. Im wondering if anyone here has suggestions for fixing this or explanation as to why this might happen.

    Thanks

    Neill

Whack another 20uF in parallel with the reservoir cap

The reservoir cap is already 47uf will another 20uf make that big a difference?

        It can't hurt.

Also try changing the first preamp stage cathode bypass cap from 10uf to 2.2uf.

Are you sure this is not a speaker issue? What are you using? Anything else you can try?
