got this in 2004, it was built by Bruce in 2003. I put nos Tung sol 5881 and TS rectifier.
nos rca 12ax7a in v3 rca command 5751 v2 and philips 6072 v1. It served me well for the past 6 years , starting to get noisy, distorted . I tried swapping pre amp tubes but same problems. Swapped out the 5881's with the original JJ 6L6gc's which look new and put the weber copper cap back in. It seems quieter but still has a bit of distortion.
Could it be a bias issue ? will likely it to my amp tech. As for new pre amp tubes I am not sure , I think the nos have skyrocketed since then.
any tube recommendations?
also the pilot light doesnt stay lit , just intermittant.
