  • NFB Resistor and Multitap OT 5F2A?

Hey everyone I just have a quick question about the 5F2A Princeton's NFB resistor and using a Multitap output transformer for 4/8/16 ohm loads. I've seen a few schematics with this connection made only to the 4ohm tap. Im just curious why they would do this and what difference would be expected using the other taps.

    Thanks

In general you would expect a reduction in gain relative to the resistors' connection to the 4 ohm tap, and slightly wider frequency response. There is a small possibility that the amp could become unstable, nothing to lose sleep over.
WARNING! Musical Instrument amplifiers contain lethal voltages and can retain them even when unplugged. Refer service to qualified personnel.
