    Hello,
    Last touches on 5f6a before firing up.
    Question - on a Magnetic Components power transformer (40-18029), there is an orange wire connected to the core (believe that's the term).
    Is this wire/core supposed to be grounded?

    From looking at the spec sheet, I would think it is a shield. It should be connected to ground.
