Thanks robrob! I will pickup some 10 W for when I want to slip my 6L6s in there.

It has been 7 years now since this 5E3 Build and in 2016 I built a 2nd one not from a kit but resourced all Parts and even built the cab and a 212 ext cab from Pine. In 2018 since I already had the ext cab I built a 6G3 Head with Dovetail Joints. All my builds went smoothly and still work fine so I am extremely happy. I would love to build another amp but I am so shaky in my hands it is difficult at 73 and it is hard to justify another at my age. Meanwhile I will enjoy what I have with the 8 guitars I have acquired .

CharlieP I too am almost 73, but not too shaky yet! I have built a few amps and am currently building another 5E3 for a friend who himself is a competent tech, but now wearing a pace maker. I think I'll be through with the tweeds after this build, (oh, and the 5F2 I have a board built for), as it's just too tough working in those tight spaces!
Maybe build a few Black Faces or an 18W before you give it up?
