    Hmmm... no. You can install a new screen node with an extra filter if you wish but I find the screen voltage higher then the plate voltage on most of those old amps and some amps have been running like that for 50 years or more.
    Just use a 1 or 2 watt 470 to 510 ohm screen resistors on the sockets and it should be fine.

      on my last 5f4 i read somewhere that wiring the ot ct this way as with the 5f6, makes life easier on the output transformer. any truth to that?

        No not really.
        Well, it would force the screen voltage lower and thus bring the power tubes idle current down.
        You could say that the lower idle current is easier on the OT since there would be less DC current in the total current flow while playing.
        It won't sound as good that way.
        I think you'd find it sounded different enough to raise the idle current substantially to get the tweed tone back.

            The power supply choke in the tweed amps is large and high current.
            The power from the choke feeds everything including the power tube's plates and OT.
            The chokes in the next series of amps is small and low current since it only filters hi-v after the OT and plates of the power tubes.
            Read that as cheaper.
