  • Does anyone make a 5E5 Pro Kit?

Howdy, I've been reading the forum for a while, but this is my first post.

I have a sort of 5E3 Deluxe clone, but I've become interested in something a bit bigger--a little more power/headroom and a 15" speaker. The 5E5 Pro looks like an interesting amp to me, but I haven't seen any kits from the usual sources.

Does anyone know of a 5E5 Pro kit?

    TIA

Simplest route would probably be a 5E3/5E5 hybrid, order up a 5E3 with beefed up trannies for 6L6 operation (I wouldn't lose too much sleep if you can't geta 3A recto winding - 5V4/5AR4 would be a plus anyway), just have 1x12AY7 preamp tube (either configured 2 channel like the 5E3 or one channel 5E5 style)?

Thanks for the answer, but I think that the Weber kit is a 5E5A and not a 5E5.

At any rate, Weber should be coming out with a kit called the Pennebaker in the next few months that sounds even more interesting to me than the 5E5 Pro.

Mojo has a Pro tweed kit. I do not know which circuit it all entails but its worth a gander.

I've build a hybrid 5E5 / 5E5-A by adding a wirewound adjustable kathode resistor and an extra switch to change between kathode/fixed bias. It's made from TAD parts, but they have a full kit in stock now.

You can see it placed just between the 2 6L6 tubes
I used the ground switch to switch the choke between pre/post B+ feed to the OT. This way I more or less can switch between 5D5/5E5/5E5-A circuits

I must say I like the 5E5-A circuit best. I still can't decide between pre/post choke. It's all a matter of taste. This thing growls and barks like hell when cranked and when backed off you get the fender sparkles back, even with that chunky 15 inch jensen P15N reissue.

Mabery, that's a beauty. I have a cab, chassis and speaker for a 5E5 so I'm considering it for my next. Can you post some closeups of your wiring?
