12at7 in 5e4?

any problem in putting a 12at7 in the pi of a 5f4? will it have any effect on the gain?

Shouldn't be any problem. The lower gain of the PI Driver stage will give more headroom than a 12AX7 (won't clip the output grid as easily - if at all)
