  • Vol 1 and Gain pots on Red Knob Twin are scratchy

My Red knob twin is now working as it should be. I did noticed that after spraying Deoxit F5 fader spray inside the Volume pot of the clean channel and Gain Pot of the Overdrive channel there is still some scratchy noise when i dial the control. Should i consider changing these pots or could this be due to another component or resistor?

Check to see if there is any DC on the offending pots.

      This^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Leaky cap / bad preamp tube.

        COOL!
I've been looking for those pots!

Had the same problem, no DC from leaking cap,
Was able to replace the bad tone pots w/switch with the 250K guitar pots w/switch

I had to use a single 1M as the gain pot, with a resistor to emulate the missing half of the dual pot, but it's a little flaky also
