    Hi there,

    Just found this forum while researching my amp issues, and hoping someone might be able to help me troubleshoot my recent problem. As the title mentions, I own an Orange Rockerverb 100 MKII and have used it for nearly 10 years now. It's been flawless except for blowing a fuse once, which I replaced and solved the issue until last week. During band practice, I noticed a faint electrical burning smell, and then a few minutes later my amp shut off. When I took it apart to look, I noticed the same fuse that blew years prior had NOT blown this time, and instead burned one of the contact points and severed the mount from the board, causing the connection to be cut.

    I've removed the board from the chassis to inspect the underside of it, and the copper connection is pretty cooked but still shows continuity across the board. My main question is what could have caused this issue, and why would the fuse not blow? It's also odd to me that this fuse caused me an issue in the past, but since replacing it I've used the amp regularly for practice, shows, and tours without any problems until now indicating a larger problem. My second question is how do I repair this fuse mount? I'm not sure I trust the copper connection, so I had thought of wiring in an inline glass fuse holder and bypassing that section of the board entirely. Is that a terrible idea?

    I've got some photos below as well as the schematic (for a MK I, but it appears identical to my board). The fuse in question is FS3 on the Power Board (bottom left). Any info or assistance would be greatly appreciated as I love this amp and really want to save it! Thank you in advance.

    These types of fuse holders on the board are at the limit of supporting that current. The best thing you can do is remove it, clean the board, cut its tracks and take two solid points far from that area to connect an external fuse holder. Be careful when selecting the new fuse holder because not all of them support that current. These types of problems appear with use, not instantly. Large (6x30mm), 15A minimum and good material (not cheap plastic).
