  • Dirt Road Special - little issue (?)

    hello everybody,
there's a little issue with this new edition, recently bought EHX Dirt Road Special amp, and i will need your help to try and solve it, if possible.
Sometimes i'd like to play very quitely (just above zero db) and the volume potentiometer at the begginning of its rotation behaves in a weird way: you can experiment little volume jumps, kind of "flutters" and at least one brief "hole" of silence.

I have already swapped the TONE and VOLUME potentiometers since they both are 100kA, but with no luck, the volume (ex tone) behaves in the exact same way, so the cause is not a bad potentiometer.

Looking at the schematic (link below) is clear that VOLUME is not connected in the usual way and due to my poor knowledge in electronics i can't understand how the circuit works and if there is any chance to get rid of the problem.
    could you please help me?
    thanks a lot!

If C16 is electrically leaky, that will set a DC offset and cause weird things to happen.
The volume control is adjusting the amount of negative feedback applied to A1 , in other words adjusts the overall gain and the tone control adjusts the negative feedback of the chosen frequency slope.
Support for Fender, Laney, Marshall, Mesa, VOX and many more. https://jonsnell.co.uk
If you can't fix it, I probably can.
