I got a crate bv120h a while ago. Did some basic maintenance. Sounded good for a while. Rehearsal was yesterday. No problem. Then today, I plugged it in, turned it on, let it warm up, hit the SB. It sounded fine. I started playing with the EQ. Gave it a few crunches on the palm mute. Heard a crackle then nothing. Tubes are glowing. I have lots of electronics repair and maintenance technician experience. Can someone tell me what the heck just happened. Got a chemical smell when it happened. Not like burnt wires.

Check you have good spealers and then look for 460volts HT on the output vale anodes.
Check for LT on C48 & C50 for the preamps and stuff.
If you are a competant tech person. Otherwise, take it to the repair shop.Support for Fender, Laney, Marshall, Mesa, VOX and many more. https://jonsnell.co.uk
If you can't fix it, I probably can.

High Tension, Low Tension. Basically, Jon is telling you to check your power supplies- low and high voltage. There is high voltage in the amp that can kill you. It is stored for quite some time even after the amp is unplugged from the line, so be careful. Here is a schematic for the amp.Attached Files"I took a photo of my ohm meter... It didn't help."
