  • Peavey Century 120 - Transformer replacement

    Hi guys
I'm currently doing repairs on the power board of an old Peavey Century 120.
I've managed to get a hold of most of the replacement parts except for
transformer DC-298, #70050298 (which has burned out).

It seems like this is the same transformer that's used in Pacer A/B, TNT100 and Century 200.

Do any of you have any information on the transformer?
Do you know where I might find a replacement?
Is there any mod or modern equivalent I can use instead?

Attached is the schematics for Century 120/200.

You require a transformer rated at 160V/A giving a secondary voltage of 50 - 55volts AC.
The originals are obsolete so browse the usual suppliers and you will find one. (Mouser, RS Components, Farnell etc.)
Support for Fender, Laney, Marshall, Mesa, VOX and many more. https://jonsnell.co.uk
If you can't fix it, I probably can.

If you can't buy a new one. Send the Transformer off to a transformer maker/repairer and they will rewind it it for you
Then it just drops back in with no issues
Try this guy in the UK
Ive been using him for years
