I have a hot rod Deville on my bench that had a bad jack 1. There was no rush to get it out so I decided to put a couple of switchcraft jacks in since I bought about 20 of them. I never remember how to do this so I did it this way

I kept the ground wire and used plastic washers.
I think I did it right because both jacks work, BUT it makes a really loud pop when you plug the cable in. With the volume off, it makes the loud pop. There's no pop if you put the amp in standby.
I'm hoping this is an easy fix. Here's the schematic:
